This is our first official store pick done in collaboration with Berry Bros & Rudd. This cask laid down in 1995 is bottled at 54.5%.
Not often seen with independent bottlers, this old Tamdhu emerges slowly with dusty aromas of old leather bound books, walnuts, praline and old cigars, very enticing. The palate has notably good mouthfeel and offers a complex array of flavours from treacle scones, Christmas cake and honey to hot tar and cedar wood, it takes a bit of contemplation and consideration, but this is a superlative dram. The finish brings more of the fresh tar along with touches of engine oil and a rich fruit cake. This is a dram to enjoy on a cold dark night, preferably with a chunky old book - neither of which you'll want to put down.
