Caisteal Chamuis 12yr old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%ABV)

From Mossburn Distillers.  Heavily Peated Whisky.

The brand is named Caisteal Chamuis after a castle that lies on the headland of the eastern flank of Knock Bay, on the Isle of Skye. The castle is visible from Mossburn Distillers’ single malt distillery, Torabhaig.

Caisteal Chamuis 12YO starts by blending a base of specially selected Island Malts which have been aged for a full twelve years in refill American Oak Hogsheads. It is then finished in a selection of Oloroso Sherry casks.

 Rich with a distinctive smoky finish.

This blend includes Islay and Highland Park whiskies.

Non chill filtered, no added colour.

Nose: Mellow peat smoke, dried fruits, and a hint of maritime brine.

Palate: Hints of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and a touch of cinnamon.

Finish: Smoke gently fading to reveal lingering notes of oak spice, sweet sherry, and a touch of sea salt.
